National Apprentice Week
As it is National Apprentice Week, we wanted to put a spotlight on our accounts apprentices who are working hard to level-up their skills in the finance world.
Today, all eyes are on Elliot Turner:
How long have you been an apprentice?
Just over 4 months, I started in October 2021.
What do you feel are your key achievements so far?
One of my biggest achievements was passing my first exam because that was pretty nerve racking for me as the format was new to me, despite this I managed to pass comfortably which was a massive thing for me because it is the first of many steps to becoming fully qualified.
Also, helping move offices was a big deal for me as this was one of the first tasks I undertook when I joined the firm. Even though this was hard work physically it felt good to see the completed result.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I aim to be a thriving part of the K2 team, looking at getting my level 4 which means that I will be able to be more independent and become a key part to the team. Outside of work I hope to get onto the property ladder meaning that I will be solely relying on myself which is daunting however I am looking forward to it at the same time. Saying this, I am excited to see what the future holds.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Sport is a massive part of my life and a special place in my heart. Depending on the time of the year I play football in the winter and cricket in the summer which I find is a way to be healthy both mentally and physically. I am a firm believer in sport helping people learn certain skills that are required at work as well which has allowed me to become more confident. Other than sport I am quite a sociable person so enjoy being surrounded by others, so I try and see friends and family often.
